Our first exchange took place at the Mayhem Youth Circus Festival, hosted by Galway Community Circus from May 23rd to 25th in Galway. This vibrant festival provided a dynamic platform for young people to share their passion for circus arts, make new connections, and develop valuable skills.
The participants engaged in a range of enriching activities, including: Train the Trainer workshops with Pete Duncan, empowering young artists to develop their teaching and leadership skills, specialist workshops with Hands Down Circus and Paul Quate, and the Youth Cabaret, where participants will showcase their talents in a collaborative, celebratory performance.
In addition to the workshops and performances, the exchange will focus on the social benefits of coming together with like minded people, helping young circus artists build lasting friendships and deepen their understanding of shared experiences across communities.
